Hello! My name is Fatou Yeli Kourouma, a 10th grader at THINK Global School. I am incredibly passionate about music, martial arts, STEM, and advocating for social justice. I intend to pursue a career in Computer Science or Medicine.

In my free time, you’ll probably catch me playing piano or guitar, training Muay Thai at my gym, building websites, or volunteering in my community.

My name is Amy Wong, and I’m a Journalist and Graphic Designer for JFS. I enjoy painting and have been doing art ever since I was young. I also like creative writing and psychology, as well as the sciences in general. Studying psychology has led me to take a recent interest in social issues and politics, and I want to discover why our society operates as it does, and how we can change it for the better. I hope to learn more and help educate others on my journey here at JFS!

Hello! My name is Jessica Tang (she/her), and I am part of the JFS team as a graphic designer. I am currently a grade 9 IB student at Turner Fenton Secondary School. I’ve had a passion for the visual arts for as long as I can remember, and you can most likely find me drawing or painting at any chance I get. I look forward to working with the incredible JFS team to spread awareness about the social issues present in our society today. Staying educated about these topics is extremely important, and I hope to learn and grow myself during my time here as well!

Hello! My name is Shuchi (she/her) and I am a 14 year old IB student in Brampton, Ontario. Currently I work as a Graphic Designer for the JFS team and the reason I joined was because I wanted to take a stand and help spread awareness on the many social justice issues we face today. I enjoy drawing and graphic design immensely and I also have an interest in the sciences as well, specifically astronomy. I am very thankful for the opportunity I was given here and I am very excited to continue to work with the team!

Hi! I’m Ella (she/her), and I’m an 11th grader from upstate New York. When I’m not doing schoolwork, I love to design and code, and I hope to pursue computer science (hopefully incorporating art, too) in college. When I’m not designing or coding, I also love to play several instruments, including guitar, ukulele, and piano. I also occasionally write songs!

Living in upstate NY, I really enjoy taking walks out in nature and discovering new spots with friends, and I also love watching shows and movies (some favorites are The Office, Jane the Virgin, and Matilda). I’m super excited to be a part of JFS!

Hi! My name is Miranda, and I make tik toks for JFS! I’m currently a sophomore living in San Diego, California and I intend to pursue law or business in the future. I take every opportunity that allows me to be creative and increase social awareness so JFS is a great fit! As for my free time, I love anything fashion related so shopping is definitely one of my favorite activities. I also play badminton and take part in other organizations! I listen to music a lot so send me recs!

Hi! My name is Jaysheen and I’m a grade 11 student attending Okanagan Mission Secondary school in Kelowna, BC, Canada. I have always had a passion for the sciences, specifically human anatomy and physiology, and am working towards specializing in the field of medicine. While pursuing these passions however, I discovered that I also really love to be creative in the form of digital media, writing, and theatre! All of these activities have helped me to establish my voice as a driven, passionate person that believes that change is possible when an effort is made. Hello! I’m Jhaycee Barnes, and I am an 11th-grade student from Griffin, Georgia. I am passionate about social justice, activism, and just helping people in general! In my free time, I enjoy reading, creating YouTube videos, and collecting cool fashion items and sneakers! I hope to pursue a career in law in my future so that I can continue to help people as much as I can. I’m super excited to join the JFS team as a video creator, and I cannot wait to see what is in store!

I'm Aroush (she/her) and I'm excited to join the JFS team as social media manager! I am a grade 12 student residing in Calgary AB. I'm passionate about sociology and criminal Justice. In my spare time you can catch me baking, reading up on true crime, or working out, and I'm always listening to music. I find societal issues such as racism, colourism, classism and sexism extremely pressing but I'm most passionate about mental health and working towards an achievable and sustainable equality, ridding society of out-dated classist, racist and sexist realities in today's world. I am looking forward to and committed to providing you guys with easily accessible and reliable resources regarding imperative societal issues! Constantly learning and growing as a person is so important to me and I hope that through the work we do here at JFS magazine we can provide youth (and peoples of all ages!) with reliable information especially about taboo and unexamined topics in a safe and inclusive environment!

Hey I'm Rafia!! I live in London, England, use they/them and I'm currently in year 11. I'm passionate about the humanities and psychology, which is a field I hope to pursue a career in. I've been invested in activism for as long as I can remember and I look forward to helping inspire others to develop a sense of social justice too! I'm in love with studying classics and am always on the lookout for interesting books to read or movies to watch. I'm extremely excited to be the Instagram Manager and Podcast Producer for JFS!

My name is Iman and I am one of the Instagram Managers! I am 17 from Toronto. I am in grade 11 and I am in the Leadership Pathways Program at R.H. King Academy. I am in several other extracurriculars such as our emergency response council where I am a junior responder. I love to meditate, cook, and make vlogs of my friends. When I am not studying, I am usually baking something or scrolling through TikTok. I hope to pursue business in the future and become a CFA. I am so excited to be a part of JFS’s amazing team!

Hello! My name is Diego Zuniga, I am 17 years old and I attend John Marshall High School. Justice For Society is a great volunteer opportunity for many of us. As an Instagram Manager under the Marketing team for JFS, I intend to extend my horizons in social media + Outreach and connect with many people interested in the subjects we promote. Although I am fairly new to JFS, I can already say that it has opened my eyes to great opportunities and skills that everyone should obtain!
