Katelyn Chang

Outreach Coordinator, Secretary

Hey! I’m Katelyn and a current sophomore from the Bay Area in California. I have a strong passion for Political Science, International Relations, and writing and always strive to learn more from those around me. When I’m not catching up on schoolwork, you can most often find me hanging out with friends, reading, or watching movies and TV shows. As I’m always trying to get more involved with her community at large, I’m excited to join JFS on its collective mission to amplify marginalized groups’ voices!

Minh Duong

Outreach Coordinator, Journalist

Hi, my name is Minh (she/her), I’m currently in grade 11 in Walnut Grove Secondary in Langley, BC. You can find me baking or doing math in my free time. Throughout my years of learning English as my second language—which wasn’t enjoyable, I have grown to be fond of writing and to embrace the language as it is, hence my role as a journalist for JFS magazine. As a youth, I learned the importance of being educated about social issues that are affecting the lives of many people. Therefore, I’m particularly excited to be a part of this amazing team full of like-minded people.

Saskia Hambali

Magazine Layout Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator

Hi! My name is Saskia Hambali (she/her) and I am a Magazine Layout Coordinator and an Outreach Coordinator at JFS. I'm currently a grade 11 student at Our Lady Queen of the World Catholic Academy in Richmond Hill, Ontario. I've always loved creating everything and anything as well as making a difference for others and being a member of JFS allows me to do that and so much more! To help me stay (somewhat) sane, I enjoy doing acts of self-care, painting and just watching youtube or studio ghibli.

Anchita Ganesh

Secretary

Anchita is 15 years old and a sophomore honors student in high school from the Bay Area. She is passionate about social activism and spreading awareness about current events and worldwide issues. Her hobbies include singing, painting, reading, designing, writing, and listening to music. She also loves traveling to different places and going on adventures. Anchita strives to educate others about current events and issues in hopes to have a meaningful impact and change the world for the better.

Laura Lin

Secretary

Hey everyone! My name is Laura and I am a first year student studying commerce at the University of Toronto. I've picked up quite a few hobbies in the past but you can always catch me binging K-dramas (highly recommend Goblin) and anime during my free time. Being a secretary at JFS means I can educate myself and also share that knowledge with the youth in this community.

Ariel Chu

Secretary

Hello I’m Ariel (she/her), a 10th grader studying in Heep Yunn School and residing in Hong Kong. Being in a city in a third-world country, it’s easy to overlook social issues under intense debate in first-world countries, let alone those that aren’t receiving the attention they deserve. I joined JFS as a secretary so I could be well-informed of problems going on in society, regardless of their levels of attention, through the words of passionate speakers in our interviews.

Apart from learning about social issues, I like to write in my spare time, and read literature from different cultures. I’m also making it my mission to be fluent in French too!

Mehul Madhura

Podcast Producer, Secretary

HI! My name is Mehul Madhura and I am 16 years old. I am a grade 11 student in Father Michael McGivney and I live in Markham, Ontario. I have always been passionate about social justice and I’ve been writing religiously since I was a kid! I have a dozen diaries and journals where I’ve recorded my life events, no matter how big or small, and my opinions on the world around me. I’m so excited to be a part of this amazing team so I can play a part in making the world more inclusive, aware and informed!

Abbie Seto

Podcast Producer, Secretary

Hi everyone! I'm Abbie Seto. I'm from Canada and I'm a rising freshman at the University of Calgary, majoring in Psychology. I'm very excited to be a part of the JFS Executive team. A little more about me, I love any activities that involve public speaking, such as debate, speech and Model UN. I love to work on different projects and initiatives when I'm not working on school. I also love to volunteer, as I think it's important to build the world towards a better future and shine light on different issues in society. So you would also sometimes catch me in different advocacy projects. In general, I try and stay busy. But when I have free time, I love to hang out with my friends and do art. I'm a social butterfly, so you would also always catch me talking to and meeting new people. I look forward to being a part of this amazing team, meeting new people and bringing change to the world!

Anya Dutta

Outreach Coordinator

Hey! I’m Anya (she/her) and I’m an Outreach Coordinator at JFS. I’m a high schooler in the U.S. and I’m not completely sure what I want to do when I’m older but some of my interests are: filmmaking, listening to music, and attempting to learn how to play that music but failing miserably. In the future I would like to study political science and cinematography. I am very passionate about advocating for social justice, especially for ending systemic racism in the U.S. and creating equal access to education for marginalized groups; I’m super excited to be a part of this team!
